The Timeline of Learning in the Visual Arts was a booklet and exhibition project I wrote a grant for and completed with my Mount Pleasant art colleagues over the course of a year. We took one art concept – the depiction of space – and documented the way this concept was developed at each level, from kindergarten to high school.

The document and exhibition served as a valuable tool for communicating the value and depth of learning that happens in art classes. It also was illuminating to all of us as art teachers to see the vertical scaffolding of our curriculum laid out before us in this visual manner.
